new bulldozer driver learning on the jobHalf a crew showed up, including a cowboy with the excavator. Someone who likes to do donuts in the dirt. Plowed right past the tree.

Big huge Cat with articulated bucket and treads. Driver looked drunk or just learning at first, wild gyrations, extensions, repeated attempts, clumsy movements.

Pounding into the earth to break up concrete. Shook the house.

Sickening crunch of breaking limbs, cracking logs. Once in awhile a really big thump sets the glasses clinking.

Anxiety, both Forman and i feel it, i for my tree, he for the job already behind schedule.

Waiting on GA Power Wednesday for hookup of trailer, which electrician had to go to Home Depot to buy by the piece. Complaining about wisdom of hooking up new 8″ pipes to existing 6″ pipes – some civil engineer who’s never been out to the site.

Clearing ex trees, digging holes and filling dumpsters with debris and a little dirt from what look like exploratory holes.
