Construction Wednesday 7/26 October 25, 2006

Wednesday 6/7 The boom pump is out back pouring concrete. Right now they’re waiting for another concrete truck.

Out front they’re still directly in front of the house. The house shakes every moment. They use this big huge iron form, 4′ wide and about 8′ on a side, that they put into the trench and work all the stuff inside of. it’s sitting in the shade of our big tree at the moment, chains attached, being moved and slid by the bulldozer. And why they’re doing this end of the street first I can’t tell. The engineer guy, who was retired after 30 years, and double dips on big projects like this, and has nothing else to keep him going except his garden and pretty girls, didn’t know that the sewer manhole was below the grade of the street and there wasn’t a manhole you could get to until they uncovered it. Hmmm.

Out back they poured all morning, and scraped smooth all afternoon, and then it was too dry to put initials in. they’ve already started building up with the rebar.
