warm, out in the garden until dark in a tshirt. they were putting in the planks on the roof, 2/3 of the way. when they were done, a mexican came down to hook up the box of tools and they hoisted it. it sounded like there were mexicans doing the planking up there, which i suppose was so. they fit the last one in, and moved it over with pry bars and hammers and then had trouble getting the rope off and they had to get the crane guy to do something. there’s a xmas tree on the top of the elevator shaft. somebody illegal was in there on sunday, we saw them and thought it odd, but they were up on top throwing cinderblocks off the structure onto the portojohn. forman gave me his cellphone number, and when we noticed they hadn’t closed the gate for the 2nd day in a row (thurs and fri) we closed it for him and called.
