ednesday 6/7

the piles of wood on all the floors are disappearing slowly as men take off one plank at a time. they left the mini dozer and its trailer on guy’s yard. it rained last night, but not much, just soft, tho there was ice and snow behind it. we’re waiting for that this evening as it gets colder. maybe we’ll have an ice storm, that’d be cool – we have kerosene heaters.

the plumber came to fix our leak. they found it immediately, right in front of the meter, and then they discovered the meter was leaking and called it in to the city who were supposed to be out in 24 hours. they dug up our whole front yard, and put in copper pipe, also rigged a new shutoff valve and didn’t charge us for it. good old mitch cary and daughters.
